Course Details

Our Senior Years program, Independence, recognises that every student will want to choose their own path throughout their final years at school.

We understand that by the time girls reach the Senior Years, they require a learning environment that is engaging, matches their skills and is delivered in a way that encourages autonomy. Our Independence program does all this and more.

Through support from learning mentors, guidance from industry leaders and a broad range of subject choices, a Seymour education is personalised to each student. We work alongside each girl and her family to establish a structure that maximises opportunities and provides experience tailored to her passions and interests.

A flexible curriculum
Unlike the confined and rigid schooling structures elsewhere, our Senior Years have students as the focus.

Our girls take pride in negotiating with Learning Mentors to create a personalised timetable that best suits their subject preferences and co-curricular endeavours.

We know that some students will be ready to accelerate through their three-year journey and our Independence model facilitates this by allowing students to access a flexible pathway. Year 10s can commence studying Stage 1 SACE subjects, and Year 11s can complete Stage 2 SACE subjects. More than half of our current Year 11 cohort are studying at least one Stage 2 subject.
