Entry Requirements

Admission to all postgraduate courses offered by UBSS at AQF Level 8 (Postgraduate degree) and above, including the Masters of Business Administration (MBA) (Accounting) (AQF Level 9), require the completion of:

Bachelor degree (AQF level 7) or postgraduate award in any discipline from a recognised tertiary institution; or
Completion of overseas university qualifications at the level of Bachelor degree (AQF 7) or higher.

Applicants who have not completed at least an AQF Level 7 qualification in Australia or a country where English is the first language must prove adequate English language proficiency.

English language proficiency by obtaining as a minimum:

IELTS score of 6.0; or

TOEFL Test of Written English (TWE) score of 550 with a writing score of 5; or TOEFL (Computer-based) score of 213; or

TOEFL (Internet-based) score of 80; or

Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) grade of B; or Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) grade of C; or

Pearson Test of English (Academic: PTE) score of 54

Developed in consultation with industry bodies, the MBA (Major in Accounting) course answers the global demand for Accounting graduates, blending theoretical study with business simulations, case studies and learning experiences with industry professionals.

The UBSS MBA (Major in Accounting) program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of accounting and financial management, as well as the skills and knowledge needed to lead and manage organizations.

The program covers a wide range of topics, including financial accounting, managerial accounting, tax accounting, and auditing. Students will also learn about financial management, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as the legal and regulatory environment in which businesses operate. Additionally, the program will provide students with the opportunity to develop their leadership and management skills through coursework and hands-on experience.

Our close partnership with the Centre for Entrepreneurship (CFE) also provides you with the opportunity to build key relationships, gain first-hand, practical knowledge and gather invaluable insights directly from financial industry professionals from leading national and international companies.

UBSS offers the flexibility of face-to-face or online study modes, and the MBA (Major in Accounting) can be fast-tracked to be completed in 18 months (full-time) based on your eligibility, recognition of prior learning and prior work experience. Domestic students can also choose to alter studies between full-time and part-time modes. Pathway options are available as well, including entry and exit opportunities through a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma of Business Administration.
