Entry Requirements

A completed Bachelors degree with at least a credit average.

IELTS: Overall band score of 6.5 and Band score of 6 in all bands; TOEFL Paper-based: total score of 577 with a minimum of 4.5 in the Test of Written English (TWE) or Internet-based: total score of 79 with a minimum of 21 in Writing, 18 in Speaking and 13 in Reading and Listening; Pearson Test of English (Academic) overall score of 58 and Skills profile of no less than 50 in all skills; and Cambridge English-Advanced (CAE): Overall score of 176 and Individual score of 169 in all skills.

The world is becoming more and more urbanised. Investments in land, infrastructure, offices, housing, retail and recreation facilities are increasing across the globe.

Property developers work to get the best results for all involved. They make sure developments are safe, productive, sustainable, high-quality and profitable.

What will you do?

Our Master of Property is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. It draws on the expertise of multiple University faculties. You will:

take core courses in finance, project management, law, development and construction
build skills through development and design simulations
travel overseas for a course on International Property
share a studio with the Master of Architecture and Master of Planning students
complete a major supervised project on property issues.

Where could it take you?

You might assess the feasibility of a multi-story tower in Dubai. You could work with landlords and tenants managing retail centres in Sydney. Perhaps you’ll assess the redevelopment potential of properties or advise sponsors on how best to invest.

Career Readiness

Graduates of the Master of Property will appeal to a range of employers, including: property development companies, property consultants, government agencies, lending institutions and large companies with significant property portfolios in Australia and internationally.

Graduates will be well equipped to pursue careers as a property analyst, property development adviser, property investment adviser or property manager.

Degree Structure

The degree shares a number of its introductory first year courses with master's degrees in Business, Economics, Law, Planning and Project Management. The degree also shares a studio with the Master of Architecture and Master of Planning.

The urban development process is a central area for study that prepares students for negotiation with architects, planners, development financiers and landowners.

The program includes an International Property course which takes place in an international location outside of Australia.
