Entry Requirements
Students must be aged 18 or above and have satisfactorily completed a CIV qualification in related fields of study.
English proficiency requirement:
Successful completion of CIV in Australia or one of the following English test results or equivalent:
IELTS overall score of 5.5
TOEFL (iBT) score of 46
PTE Academic score of 45
This qualification reflects the roles of community services, case management and social housing workers involved in the managing, co-ordinating and/or delivering of person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities.
At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad direction from senior management. Workers are usually providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals. Workers may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers, volunteers and/or case management; program coordination and the development of new business opportunities.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 100 hours of practical work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

Work placement
Students are required to complete a minimum of 100 hours of work placement in a community services workplace for the unit CHCDEV002 Analyse impacts of sociological factors on clients in community work and services. This will enable the students to acquire the skills and knowledge they require to work in a community services workplace.
Pathways from the qualification:
Students who undertake the CHC52015 – Diploma of Community Services are provided with advice of further training options. Students who gain this qualification can further their study in a range of Advanced Diploma and Community Service degrees qualifications.
