Entry Requirements

To be accepted for enrolment in a Doctor of Philosophy candidature, an applicant must:

Have at least one of the following Australian qualifications (which must include studies relevant to the proposed field of research), or the equivalent qualification as approved by the relevant authorized delegate:

  • A Bachelors degree with Honours class 1 or 2A
  • A Graduate Diploma or Masters degree by coursework with a research component of at least 18 units, with an average grade of Distinction or better in the research component
  • A Masters by Research degree

English language requirements

IELTS (Academic): 6.5 Overall with 6.0 Speaking, 6.5 Writing, 6.0 Reading, 6.0 Listening; TOEFL iBT: 80 Overall with 18 Speaking, 22 Writing, 18 Reading, 18 Listening; Pearson PTE Academic: 58 Overall with 58 Speaking, 50 Writing, 50 Reading, 50 Listening; Cambridge C1 Advanced: 176 Overall with 169 Speaking, 169 Writing, 169 Reading, 169 Listening; Duolingo (Up to and including Semester 2, 2024): Overall 105-110

Course Details

Computers and information technology have changed the way we can deliver medical services and help people live healthy lives. There are a range of exciting PhD opportunities aligned to the Flinders Digital Health Research Centre, South Australia’s only university with a dedicated research centre for digital health. Flinders Digital Centre Research Centre brings researchers together across a range of disciplines, including experienced nurses and health science practitioners and technical experts in computing and engineering to develop and deploy digital solutions (such as apps and online portals) to support consumers in managing their own health, and for healthcare providers in delivering services using new models of care. We have close industry partnerships with the aged care sector and links to other research groups in health and technology. The Flinders Digital Health Research Centre supports diversity and warmly welcomes applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates and those with lived experience of disability or marginalisation.
