Where are you from, and what have you studied and at which institution?
I'm from China, and I completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering) from Flinders University.
I chose Flinders University since it provides great student support and a 20-weeks industrial based internship, which is definitely a great advantage for international students to build a solid local network and industrial connection.
What motivated you to choose Adelaide over other Australian cities for your studies?
I chose to study in Adelaide because it offers a high-quality education environment with world-class universities and a relaxed, affordable lifestyle.
I was drawn to the city’s strong reputation for safety, cultural diversity, and excellent student support. The city, the lifestyle and the living cost did contribute to my consideration.
Adelaide has really good universities and a strong focus on hands-on learning. You get to work on real projects and learn from people who are experts in their fields, which makes studying here exciting and practical.
What are some of your favourite things to do in Adelaide?
My favourite things to do in Adelaide are walking along the beach and enjoying the sunshine and coffee.
Outside of studying and working, I like to play badminton and do long-distance running, which not only builds additional connections outside of my industry but also improves my health and mobility.
