Where are you from, and what have you studied and at which institution?

I'm originally from the Philippines, and I completed a Master of Business Administration at Flinders University.

Besides the location, my programme offered topics that pique my interest, such as International Human Resources Management, Advanced Recruitment & Selection (which was my field prior to studying), and Leading a Diverse Workforce (as someone who worked with multinational organisations before, I find this important).

To add the cherry on top, Flinders University offers industry placements, where one has the opportunity to apply the skills they have learned during their stay at the university.

What motivated you to choose Adelaide over other Australian cities for your studies?

My parents visited Adelaide years ago, which inspired me to study in Adelaide.

They visited Australia 16-17 years ago, and they’ve been around the other states as well, but Adelaide, they ended up raving about due to it being tranquil and its proximity to both the hills and the beach (they knew that I like nature).

Fast forward to 2023, this aligned with my intention to study further under the Human Resources field, and that’s when they brought up the idea again for me to not just visit, but to study in Adelaide.

Personally, compared to the other states, I think Adelaide has a relaxing pace that would remind you to wind down once the sun goes down.

What are some of your favourite things to do in Adelaide?

I do photography. I'm not an expert, but I do it as a form of relaxation, and Adelaide is a perfect destination for snapping pictures due to its natural beauty and charm.

Adelaide is never short of activities that you would find fun. Into books? The State Library might be your cup of tea. Into photography? Morialta, Botanic Gardens, and Glenelg are charming for photos. Into biking? Adelaide has dedicated bike routes that you can take either for commuting or for exercise.
