Where are you from, and what have you studied, and at which institution?
I'm from India, and I completed a Bachelor of Business with a focus on Real Estate Practice at the University of South Australia, which in 2026 will combine with The University of South Australia to become Adelaide University.
Through the course, I developed essential skills in areas like finance, economics, and accounting, all of which are critical in the real estate industry. More importantly, the degree helped me build practical, industry-relevant knowledge that I could immediately apply in the real world. It also taught me how to think strategically, communicate effectively, and approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset. These skills have given me the confidence to grow both personally and professionally as I’ve stepped into the real estate field.
What motivated you to choose Adelaide over other Australian cities for your studies?
I chose Adelaide for several reasons. The city’s size and lifestyle reminded me a lot of my home city in India; it’s more relaxed and easy-going compared to bigger metropolitan cities.
I love how everything is well-connected, making it easy to get around. The weather is great, and you’re never too far from beautiful places; whether it’s a day in the Adelaide Hills, a quick trip to the beach, or a visit to one of the many stunning wineries nearby. I also really enjoy the café and hospitality culture here; there’s always a new local spot to discover, which adds to the charm of living and studying in Adelaide.
What are some of your favourite things to do in Adelaide?
One of the things I love most about Adelaide is how easy it is to enjoy the outdoors. I often spend my free time exploring local trails, whether it’s hiking through the nearby trails or going for a run along one of the many scenic routes around the city. It’s the perfect way to unwind and stay active.
As a bit of a foodie, I also love discovering new cafes and restaurants in and around the CBD. Adelaide has such a vibrant food culture, from brunch spots to hidden gems serving cuisines from around the world; there’s always something new to try. And on a sunny day, you’ll likely find me at the beach, just relaxing or catching up with friends.
Whether it’s nature, food, or a laid-back afternoon by the coast, Adelaide offers the perfect balance of lifestyle and leisure outside of work and study.
One of my favourite memories is connecting with people from all over the world, sharing stories and cultures, and building friendships that made my time here truly special. I also loved exploring the city’s diverse food scene and trying cuisines I’d never experienced before.
From late-night study sessions to weekend adventures around South Australia, I really felt a balance between personal growth and professional development. Being involved in various university activities made me feel part of a vibrant and supportive community, which I’ll always look back on fondly.
