Where are you from, and what have you studied and at which institution?
I'm from Vietnam, and I completed my Master of Information Technology (Enterprise Management) at the University of South Australia, which in 2026 will combine with The University of Adelaide to become Adelaide University.
What motivated you to choose Adelaide over other Australian cities for your studies?
I knew I had a passion for learning new things, especially in data and technology, and I thought it would be really cool to study overseas. I considered many options like the big cities, but I had my aunty and uncle here, which was why I chose Adelaide.
After living here for a year or two, I loved it. It has the busyness of a big city but also the peacefulness when you need it, and that is why I made it my second home.
The city offers a range of world-class universities and institutions that provide excellent academic programs and strong support for international students. Compared to other major Australian cities, Adelaide has a more affordable cost of living, and I believe that with proper budgeting, it is a great place to invest your time, money and education.
What are some of your favourite things to do in Adelaide?
I enjoy hanging out with friends at local cafés and bakeries, and watching the sunrise and sunset at Henley Beach, Semaphore Beach and Glenelg Beach, which are only a 15 to 30 minute drive away. For something a bit fancy, I like visiting Hahndorf, Stirling and wineries in McLaren Vale and the Barossa.
